'A New Life in the Sea' by Michael Lombardi I’ve discussed this very video previously, but feel compelled to share it again, as it just recently crossed my desk in a new context. In my opinion, this is National Geographic’s most profound piece on all things underwater: City Under the Sea.

As the very few of us in the industry get ever closer to highly extended stays beneath the waves, it is ever so important to keep the pursuit in context – and understand why its so important to take on this massive, but critical, challenge for our species.

In the end, its all about our survival, and our sustainability. Spending nearly every day in the water, the stark contrast from our terrestrial pitfalls and the underwater opportunity is strikingly obvious.

The challenge remains in getting there – efficiently, effectively, and striving towards commodity level accessibility for the masses. The next step is clearly communicating that the blue part of our planet offers the hope and change that we are in need of, and so desperately need to chart a new course. This not just needs to be heard, but further understood and embraced on a  global scale, and by folks from all walks of life.

It’s a huge undertaking, but it is indeed all there. Help make our life in the sea a reality.
