Past to Present | Return to Antikythera 2014

In 2014, we partook in a journey to the Greek island of Antikythera for what would be the first archeological use of the Nuytco Research Ltd. Exosuit Atmospheric Diving System. Despite being blessed by the Greek Orthodox Church prior to departure from Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, the project was hampered with foul weather for 20 days, leaving only one day for Exosuit operations. However, this provide an opportunity for Hellenic Navy diver Fotis Lazarou to make a test dive off of the ancient shipwreck site. The  sense of Greek national pride instilled was critical in setting the stage for future programs.
