REDLINE | an integrated Life System

Project Description

Our integrated Life System, REDLINE (Range Extension for Depth and LINear Exploration), is a purpose built platform which brings together a unique interface of human intervention tools with ROV-like telemetry – this include multiple cameras, lights, communication, and sensor telemetry over the tether. REDLINE has been designed to incorporate commonly used and readily available components and sub-assemblies to ensure rapid re-configurations and field repairs as needed. The platform’s modularity allows for re-configuration in numerous ways to meet mission requirements. The system has evolved in response to our demonstrated technical intervention needs in both mesophotic science and specialized industrial diving, and continues to evolve as a research and development platform with our partners. A number of demonstrations are being planned and will be underway in coming years.
